About Coquina Dance

Thank You for Shopping Local

Hi! Iā€™m Annette Berksan and I make everything by hand in Port Aransas, Texas. Because I grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast, my love of the beach, surf and sand is reflected in many of my designs.

I started the journey of creating jewelry because I wanted to make affordably priced and beautifully designed jewelry from quality materials. I’ve taken a lot of classes from some incredible designers and have learned different tecniques and styles.

Nothing makes me happier than when someone enjoys wearing jewelry that I have made. I hope you enjoy my jewelry as much as I enjoy creating it.

Volunteer Work

Giving back to this wonderful community is important to me. When I’m not making jewelry, I volunteer for two local nonprofit organizations. I am the social media and print design volunteer for the Port Aransas Community Theatre. In addition, I designed and maintain the website for the Port Aransas Preservation Historical Association and Wooden Boat Festival websites.

Coquina Dance

Why Coquina Dance?

Coquinas are my favorite shells. You can find the tiny colorful coquina clams buried just under the sand at the water’s edge. When the receding waves uncover them, they seem to dance in unison as they work to bury themselves back into the sand.

Look for the coquinas next time you walk along the beach. Then you’ll understand why I’ve been fascinated by them for as long as I can remember. šŸ™‚
